4) PRONUNCIATION

The difference between the B and the V

In Spanish there is no difference between the sound of the B and V,  both sounds are made closing the lips.  En español no hay diferencia entre el sonido de la B y el sonido de la V. In English, instead, there is a big difference in sound. En inglés, en cambio, hay una gran diferencia en el sonido.

The B is pronounced like in Spanish, but the V is pronounced almost like an F. To make this sound you must bite your lower lip. La B se pronuncia como en español, pero la V se pronuncia casi como una F. Para hacer este sonido debes morderte el labio inferior.

In this video, I show how. En este vídeo te explico cómo.

Words to practice the sound:

  • Very. Muy
  • Vest. Chaleco
  • Van. Furgoneta
  • Voice /vois/. Voz
