Breath /brez/ = respiración. Z as the Spanish Z
Breathe /brid/ = respirar. It sounds like a D. In phonetics is a ð (d con un moñito).

English pronunciation has so many exceptions that is not always possible to say that all the words that end in a certain way have the same sound.
